Discover the unique and beautiful city of Oaxaca as you walk in the midst of its art and all it expresses. Hear about the techniques used by the artists, their stories and who they are. Walking by and admiring all the must see murals that signify so much to Oaxaca, you will visit the art studios, meet the actual artists behind the murals and have the opportunity to dig deeper into this unique art scene. It is the best way to understand and hear about the political, cultural and artistic aspects of this quarter.

As you explore the city and neighbourhood murals and go behind the doors of the artist studios you will get a real sense of the special support networks and techniques that make this art scene in Oaxaca unique in the world.

The tour includes two stops:

1.  The first is where you will have the opportunity to create a print using a hand made, woodcut block created by an incarcerated artist* and bring your print home with you.

2. The next stop you will get to taste the delicious Oaxaca chocolate during a tasting session where you will hear about how the Oaxacan chocolate tradition focuses on the community and is organic and sustainable.

You will be truly inspired as you witness the time, effort, detail and spirit that goes into the art and cacao process.

* By participating in this tour you help the Art program, GRAFICA SIQUEIROS, a wonderful humanity project that provides materials and art workshops to incarcerated men, women and tenneagers in 4 different jails around Oaxaca. You will also have the chance to view their art in the first gallery visited on the tour.
