We drive you through the eastern valley of Oaxaca to the world capital of Mezcal, Santiago Matatlan at about an hour drive from Oaxaca centro.

You will visit two different palenques (mezcal distillery) owned by local producers with two different perspectives and ideas. It's a conversation with you and the maestros mezcaleros during which you will feel at ease to ask questions, learn and taste the sacred beverage of course!

We will sample a large variety of flavours and recipes prepared by Israel in his mezcal laboratory. You will sit and continue chatting and trying his creations in his private tasting room at a great location in the village with stunning views over the valley of agave fields!

Food will be served in this beautiful space and later at a local restaurant we will try some delicious dishes "al comal" and a traditional meal, before heading back to Oaxaca.
