VAMOS A LA PLAYA!

Oaxaca Southern Valley, Sierra Sur and Coast

We start our journey from the city to the coast driving through Oaxaca south valley.

We will stop along the way visiting beautiful artesania of San Martin Tilcajete, town of the alebrijes handicraft. Also on the way, the very inspiring family of Jose and Teresa will share with us their passion and talent for red clay pottery.

Arriving in high mountains of San Jose del pacifico for sunset, we will enjoy a heartwarming fire in the cabin and a vegan dinner prepared with vegetables from the garden.
In the morning we will get ready for a  forest bath and hike to the little waterfall. On this 3 hours loop we will find many birds and wild life to observe.
After lunch we continue our way to the next village, Pluma Hidalgo.

We will arrive at the village of Pluma Hidalgo for dinner, discovering a different climate, more humid and lush vegetation in the lower mountains.
Known for high quality coffee, here families grow coffee beans that you will only find in this town.
In the morning we will have breakfast at the coffee plantation and visit their production.
Later a tuc tuc will drive us to the impressive waterfall.
After lunch we will continue our last drive to reach the coast.

Margaux offered a ‘Vamos a La Playita” tour that was 3 days and 2 nights. We wanted to take our time to see the Oaxacan countryside going from the city down to the beach! It was a perfect way to explore places we normally would not have seen. She showed us hidden gems in Oaxaca and had lovely stays at a cabin in the pine forest and then near a coffee plantation. We hiked to some lovely waterfalls and did quite a lot of birdwatching. Margaux is very knowledgeable and was quick to think of alternative options when things appeared to be closed last minute. She is fun and has a zest for life! She will show you things off the beaten path which my husband and I loved and can’t recommend her enough! She also helped provide many contacts for various activities even after we parted. Highly recommend her and this tour!!!
